Leaking Breech
If you’ve got a leak in your shower breech (the pipework in your wall behind the tiles), with the Therm-Oz Reno kit the pipework becomes redundant.
Once the adaptors are put in and screwed in place, they seal flush on the seating so no water travels up the pipework.
Therefore, the problem of the leaking breech is cured with the Therm-Oz Thermostatic Shower Reno Kit.
Bad Seating
If the shower breech has a bad seating, that can no longer be re-seated, the Therm-oz Reno Kit can still be installed as long as one seating is still good.
Use PTFE tape on the adapters screwed in to each side of the breech and the spud outlet. Because one seating is still good, there is no chance of the cold supply pushing against the hot. PTFE will ensure no external leaks because of the bad seating. NO NEED TO CHOP OUT THE BAD SEATING SIDE!
If one of the seatings is bad, and still letting by, it can’t travel horizontally to the other side because it’s sealed off. It also cannot come out the spud as that is blocked off.
The only way the water can come out is forwards. Once the valve is finally on, it’s isolated with the on/off handle.

TAP SPACING ADAPTORS FOR +/- 150mm BREACHES
Chrome “cranked arms” are included to convert a tap spacings that are between 80mm and 230mm to the 150mm required by the Therm-Oz thermostatic shower valve.
These are installed by hand tightening the 2 chrome cranked arms with washers and rotated to approximately 150mm. Then using the other washes, connect the shower valve to the chrome cranked arms. Adjust and level, then tighten with a spanner for a secure fit. Care must be taken with spanner on chrome.
